William
Samuel Westbrook
“Bill” 1931 - 2005
He died at the UCSF Medical Center from complications related to cancer. Although there were some rough spots during his illness, he died peacefully in his sleep. Bill retired from teaching at Marshall University and moved to San Francisco in the summer of 2003 where his two sons, Jeff and Randy, have resided for a number of years. Although he was sorry to leave his teaching career, Bill found new friends and enjoyed nearly two years of California living before heading home. Bill was a loving father, husband, teacher and friend. His 40-plus year career as a college professor was driven by his unwavering passion to teach, inspire, and learn from the countless students and colleagues that graced his path. Services will be held in both San Francisco and West Virginia. Click the links for more information. In an effort to continue our father’s commitment to education, a scholarship fund will be setup in his honor. Click here for more information. We want to express our deep appreciation for your loving thoughts and prayers and will contact individuals as time allows. This site will continue to grow and become a living document of our Dad's life. Please enrich this site by contributing your own thoughts, stories, and pictures.
